Pacific Herring Conservation

The Pacific Herring is currently not listed as threatened or endangered however like all marine creatures it is susceptible to the effects of pollution and over fishing. The Pacific Herring is a vital part of of the Pacific Ocean's food chain providing food for many animals and thus helps maintain the ecological balance of this system. Any alterations that may occur from human interaction can seriously effect this species and subsequently many others. Efforts must be maintained to reliably conserve Pacific Herring stocks for the future.
